Hello and Welcome! I am so glad you made it here. My name is Margaret Flowers-
Anderson and I am running for Assistant Financial Secretary & Nominating
Committee Member. I am excited for you to get to know me a little bit more!
I am a 2001 initiate of MRAC where I served as the President of my Line “Unbreakable 36”.
Over the years I have been meaning to reacclimate into the chapter and recently took that leap this past year, participating on the 2024 Cotillion Committee. Under the leadership of our recent co-chairs, I was tasked with taking on a sub-committee leadership role, facilitating the Volunteer’s for the ball. It was an enjoyable opportunity and evening of success!
This opportunity inspired me to say "Hey! It’s time to make a move and become more
active within the chapter." After the loss of my husband of 22 years almost a decade ago and success in my career since then, I am now in a place where I want to apply what I've gained to the chapter fold. I am ready to cultivate more focus on my personal growth outside of work, and believe working in tandem with my sorors will do just that.
This is important to me because I want my daughters to see that it is never too late to make yourself a more well-rounded Woman; I am a true proponent of leading by example! Along with, a true believer that instead of being those who “talk the talk,” you must “walk the walk”.
I am a widow and a proud Mother of two girls; one of which is my Soror. My
husband was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. - National Guide Right Co-
Chair; he held various positions on a local level including Polemarch and navigating to
become the next Grand Polemarch. He would have been so proud to see where our
girls are now!
I am originally from Baton Rouge, LA and moved to Atlanta early in the 90s. I hadn’t
always worked in the financial realm and started my career working in management at
Richs now Macy’s. This time gave me such great insight into my love of the fashion
world along with how to effectively manage a book of businesses and develop a team of
people. Realizing I had a knack for Financial Shared Services arena I started with the Georgia
Lottery and navigated through my career in accounting and finance.
To be completely honest, what you will find in me is a strong candidate that will exhibit
and bring “new” vitality and vibrancy to both roles with continuous momentum of new
and fresh ideas. I will provide reliability, responsibility and organization that is necessary
for both the roles of Assistant Financial Secretary and Nominating Committee Member.

Why DST?
As previously mentioned, I joined the devastating divas of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. over twenty years ago as an initiate of the 2001 graduate line for Marietta Roswell Alumnae Chapter, the President of the “Unbreakable 36”. When I embarked on this journey, I had no idea the amount of thoughtful women and essential service I would soon become apart of and gain such insight into. I knew even while in school that I wanted to become a Delta. For reasons outside my control, I wasn't able to begin my trek to Delta in undergrad, so I stayed the course and made my dreams become a reality, even while juggling two small children. Over the years, I have been so fortunate to be apart of such an impactful organization and in particular, chapter. I gained a new soror in one of my daughters Fall of 2017 when she crossed Lambda Chapter in Chicago and soon will have the opportunity again when my eldest crosses graduate chapter in the future. I am fortunate to have strong women in my family as not only relatives, but also sorors, and that has been a beautiful thing to see.
Closing Message
I am a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven track record in my career of leadership, organizational and communication skills where I will be able to support and illuminate Sorority Values and Community Involvement by utilizing those skills in the “Assistant Financial Secretary and Nominating Committee Member roles”. I have provided recent leadership experience within the chapter on the Cotillion Committee.
I am passionate about what’s next and about getting/staying involved, I want to build my
community and my familial fold in the next steps of my journey. I really want your VOTE
because I am genuine and honest. Outside of my professional acumen, I am a mother and woman with a passion for effective and cohesive communication and collaboration. With almost two decades of experience in the Financial Shared Services arena and 30+ years as a mom, I have cultivated a career of being a go-getter that can confidently speak to the value I'll bring where needed. If you are seeking a dedicated, details-oriented, and compassionate soror that has effective experience and supportive candor necessary for a member of the Nominating Committee and in the role of Assistant Financial Secretary, then I am the candidate who is ready to support you as we embark on this new year. VOTE for me as we move into a new sororal year of our illustrious Sisterhood enacting even more of a positive and inclusive environment.
Are you ready to bloom into the next sororal year with me?✨💐
