This post will explore what this new journey means for me and how I plan to make a meaningful impact as we move into the next sororal year together!

Realizing that I had a knack for finances, I soon began my pursuit as a financial leader. Having experience at small and large companies has been so vital to my growth and understanding of the space. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to hone my coordination of financial operations, so I am looking forward to bringing a fresh insight and a break to any complacency to our chapter this year with assisting the financial tasks.

Leveraging My Experience

Throughout my financial tenure I have:

  • MBA

  • MAFM

  • SAP & S/4 Hanna Certification

  • Oracle & Oracle Cloud Certification

  • Project Management Professional

  • Six Sigma Champion

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

  • Six Sigma Lean Certified

  • Certified CBF - Certified Business Fellow of Credit Certification

  • Certified CBA - Certified Business Associate of Credit Certification

Working in tandem as a corporate leader to a role that directly supports financial operations of our chapter will be a new found source of growth and space to flourish. The duties as Assistant Financial Secretary may appear less intense than managing multinational financial operations, but the essence of financial stewardship remains unchanged.

As a executive finance and accounting project professional, I have gained a toolkit of financial skills that I plan to leverage in this new position. From budget forecasting to risk management, I have seen how essential these skills are in promoting a strong financial culture.

A Vision for the Future

As I contemplate our next sororal year, I ask: What legacy do we want to create? My commitment as your hopefully next Assistant Financial Secretary is to focus on sustainable financial management and accountability.

In this role, I will handle the following key responsibilities, just to name a few:

  • Financial Record Keeping:

  • Compliance and Regulatory considerations

  • Cross Committee Collaboration

  • Meticulous Record Keeping

  • Chapter Meeting Updates

  • Ensuring compliance to our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust

Your Role in This Journey

While I am excited about this role, your support and involvement are paramount for our success. Consider where you'll be for the May Chapter meeting and beyond. Whether through attending financial workshops or providing feedback on budget proposals, every effort is valuable.

This role grants me a more hands-on approach to the sorority, which excites me! I see opportunities to engage with our sisterhood on a deeper level and collaborate closely to set financial policies that promote transparency and accountability. Voting for me as Assistant Financial Secretary, will ensure that all these tenants are met with candor and ease.
